1983-2013: the HEARTS of SPACE 30TH & 40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

The Hearts of Space radio program was born in 1973 at KPFA-FM in Berkeley. We began national syndication 10 years later in 1983. So 2013 is a year of milestones — in addition to the 30 and 40 year anniversaries, in January we reached program #1,000 in the HOS series!

We're celebrating with a rare and special live event at the EMBASSY SUITES HOTEL and CONFERENCE CENTER near our home base in bucolic SAN RAFAEL, CA, 13 miles north of San Francisco. Here's the site:

A CONFERENCE OF CONCERTS

AMBIcon 2013 is a weekend event hosted by Hearts of Space producer STEPHEN HILL, organized around 4 live surround-sound concerts featuring 2 artists in each, for a total of 8 individual performances by core Hearts of Space musicians HANS CHRISTIAN, STEPHAN MICUS,  JEFF PEARCE, ROBERT RICH, STEVE ROACH, MICHAEL STEARNS, STELLAMARA, and TIM STORY. 

MORNING SESSIONS: On SATURDAY, an artist panel discussion and Q&A session moderated by Stephen Hill.
On SUNDAY, a special presentation by English music writer MARK PRENDERGAST, author of The Ambient Century.

FULL CONFERENCE REGISTRATION includes the opening reception, all concerts and sessions, refreshment service at breaks, and lunch Saturday and Sunday. Conference attendees are elegible for special low room rates (inventory is limited)  and free shuttle service from downtown San Rafael.

The overflow hotel is across the highway from a large shopping mall with good restaurants and services. It's an easy 10 minute walk from the conference, or a short shuttle ride.
