AIRPORTS

AMBIcon 2013 is in SAN RAFAEL, Marin County, California, about 14 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
If you're flying in, it's easier to get from SFO (San Francisco International Airport) to the conference hotels in San Rafael — the Embassy Suites Hotel and the Four Points Sheraton — than from OAK (Oakland International Airport). It's about the same distance, but it takes longer from OAK due to traffic and routing, so it's more expensive.

RECOMMENDED SHUTTLE SERVICE

For transport from SFO to the Embassy Suites San Rafael or the Four Points Sheraton San Rafael, we've made special arrangements with Marin Door To Door for their shared-van shuttle service. Cost is $28 per person if you reserve in advance by phone or online:

To get the special price select "Shared Van" and enter "Hearts of Space" in the Notes/Special instructions field.

They also pick up at Oakland International (OAK). Cost is $50 for the first person, $12 for each additional person.
Sorry, we couldn't get a special deal for AMBIcon from OAK.

OTHER BUS & SHUTTLE OPTIONS

The Marin Airporter is a comfortable scheduled bus service running every half hour from SFO to the downtown
San Rafael Transit Center. Fare is $20.

From the San Rafael Transit Center you can take a TAXI (~3 miles, $13) to either of the conference hotels.
OR, between 8 AM and 5:30 PM call for the free Embassy Suites shuttle. They'll come pick you up at the Transit Center. Four Points Sheraton shuttle  is subject to 'driver availability'. See TAXIs below if it's not happening.
